The City of Troup has received a HOME Grant through the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for rehabilitation and/or reconstruction of qualified homes within the City of Troup. Forms for bidder pre-qualification for the City of Troup’s HOME Program will be available for pickup beginning Thursday, December 22, 2016.
Bids for contracts under this program will only be accepted from potential bidders completing this form and being pre-approved by the city. Application period for pre-qualification is ongoing, but contractors must be approved and qualified at least 7 days prior to bidding.
Applications must be submitted to Gene Cottle at Troup City Hall, 106 E. Duval Street, Troup TX 75789.
Forms may be picked up between the hours of 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday at Troup City Hall, 106 E. Duval Street, Troup TX 75789.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE 2016-2017 CITY OF TROUP BUDGET
Notice is hereby given that the Troup City Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 2016-2017 City of Troup Annual Budget. The public hearing will be held at a regular meeting on Monday, September 12, 2016, at 6:30 p.m.
in the Cameron-J.Jarvis Troup Municipal Library, 102 South Georgia Street, Troup, Texas 75789.
This budget will raise the same amount of revenue from property taxes as last year's budget.
The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $3,571.27
Anyone wishing to speak either FOR or AGAINST the proposed Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Annual Budget
is invited to attend the public hearing and voice his/her opinion.

Notice is hereby given that the Troup City Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 2015-2016 City of Troup Annual Budget. The public hearing will be held at a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. in the Cameron-J.Jarvis Troup Municipal Library, 102 South Georgia Street, Troup, Texas 75789.This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year's budget by an amount of $15,009.77, which is a 2.82 percent increase from last year's budget. The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $6,618.96.
Anyone wishing to speak either FOR or AGAINST the proposed Fiscal Year 2014-2015 Annual Budget is invited to attend the public hearing and voice his/her opinion.

Texas Community Development Program
The City of Troup will hold a public hearing at 5:05 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 at City Hall, 106 East Duval Street, Troup, TX regarding the submission of an application to the Texas Department of Agriculture for a Texas Community Development Block Grant (TXCDBG) Downtown Revitalization grant. The purpose of this meeting is to allow citizens an opportunity to discuss the citizen participation plan, the development of local housing and community development needs, the amount of TxCDBG funding available, all eligible TxCDBG activities, and the use of past TXCDBG funds. The City of Troup encourages citizens to participate in the development of this TXCDBG application and to make their views known at this public hearing. Citizens unable to attend this meeting may submit their views and proposals to the Gene Cottle, City Manager, at the City of Troup. Persons with disabilities that wish to attend this meeting should contact the City of Troup to arrange for assistance. Individuals who require auxiliary aids or services for this meeting should contact the City of Troup at least two days before the meeting so that appropriate arrangements can be made. Notice of Public Hearing on Tax Increase
The City of Troup will hold two public hearings on a proposal to increase total tax revenues from properties on the tax roll in the preceding tax year by 3.6271 percent (percentage by which proposed tax rate exceeds lower of rollback tax rate or effective tax calculated under Tax Code, Chapter 26). Your individual taxes may increase at a greater or lesser rate, or even decrease, depending on the change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in taxable value of all other property and the tax rate that is adopted.
The first public hearing will be held on September 8, 2015 at 6:30 pm at Cameron-J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library.
The second public hearing will be held on September 15, 2015 at 6:30 pm at Cameron-J.Jarvis Troup Municipal Library .
The members of the governing body voted on the proposal to consider the tax increase as follows:

The average taxable value of a residence homestead in City of Troup last year was $66,797.00
Based on last year’s tax rate of $. 921544 per $100 of taxable value, the amount of taxes imposed last year on the average home was $615.97
The average taxable value of a residence homestead in City of Troup this year is $69,151.00
If the governing body adopts the effective tax rate for this year of $0.897315 per $100 of taxable value, the amount of taxes imposed this year on the average home would be $620.50
